Desapego
|
¿Hasta dónde debemos mantener la mente y la voluntad firmes en lograr algo y hasta dónde debemos ser flexibles? "El mundo está lleno de sufrimientos y la raíz del sufrimiento es el apego", decía Siddhārtha Gautama.
¿Qué es el apego? Se define como un estado emocional de vinculación compulsiva a una cosa o persona determinada, originado por la creencia de que sin esa cosa o persona, no es posible ser feliz.
Tu mente dice: "no puedes ser feliz si no tienes tal o cual cosa, o si tal persona no está contigo. No puedes ser feliz si tal persona no te ama. No puedes ser feliz si no tienes un trabajo seguro. No puedes ser feliz si no das seguridad a tu futuro. No puedes ser feliz si estás solo. No puedes ser feliz si no tienes un cuerpo a la moda. No puedes ser feliz si los otros actúan así."
La ley del desapego, de acuerdo al autor espiritual Deepak Chopra, dice que para adquirir cualquier cosa en el universo físico tiene que renunciarse al apego hacia eso, pero no renunciar a tu intención y deseo sino al apego al resultado. El apego está basado en el miedo y la inseguridad; la necesidad de seguridad se basa en el desconocimiento de tu propio ser, de potencialidad pura.
Cuando nos desapegamos, dejamos de aferrarnos a una sola vía, a una sola manera para ser felices, y nos damos cuenta lo absurdo que es obstinarse con un resultado particular, del millón de posibilidades que existen; forzar soluciones sólo crea nuevos problemas. Es reconocer que el apego sólo trae dolor.
El desapego implica entonces soltarse, para caminar más tranquilos, sin querer controlarlo todo y tenerlo todo a "mi manera". No es necesario sentirse fracasado porque algo no se ha conseguido en tiempo o forma propuesto. Por el contrario, es una señal de madurez dejar de forzar. Esto nos permite "fluir", para identificar aquellas puertas que sí están abiertas.
¿Qué hacer para practicar el desapego?
- Reconoce que para cada fin existen 10, 20 o 99 soluciones.
- Respira y suelta tu necesidad de lograr tu meta por una vía particular; no es necesario probar nada a nadie.
- Despeja tu mente, la risa es un gran aliado; ríete de tu apego.
- Invita nuevas posibilidades a tu vida, mantén una actitud abierta, utilizando tu intuición para "olfatear" otras opciones. Practica la creatividad del niño y verás muchas opciones más.
- Toma acción.
- Repite el paso 1.
El desapego es mantener firme el rumbo y las convicciones, reconociendo que la realización personal y profesional se puede lograr por muchas vías. Es persistir, pero con tranquilidad, abierto a nuevos caminos, situaciones y personas. Es dejar de controlar y comenzar a disfrutar más.

¿Cielo o infierno?
|
La historia de Jacques Lusseyran, un héroe de la Resistencia francesa durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, es un ejemplo extraordinario de cómo encontrar alegría en circunstancias difíciles, relatan John-Roger y Paul Kaye en el libro Momentum: Dejar que el Amor Guíe. Ejemplifica cómo no sentirnos víctimas, sin importar lo que suceda.
Lusseyran, cuentan los autores, tuvo una niñez idílica hasta los ocho años, cuando quedó ciego en un accidente en la escuela. Descubrió pronto que, a pesar de su ceguera total, podía ver un resplandor interno. Pero solamente podía ver la luz cuando estaba amando. Cuando la cólera, la impaciencia, la competencia o el miedo se apoderaban de él, la luz inmediatamente palidecía, o desaparecía totalmente.
Durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, una vez que los nazis ocuparon Francia, Lusseyran se unió al movimiento de la Resistencia. Fue capturado y enviado al campo de concentración de Buchenwald. De los dos mil franceses internados allí, Lusseyran fue uno de solamente treinta que sobrevivieron. Más adelante escribió que su experiencia en el campo confirmó dos verdades importantes: que la vida de cada persona se define desde adentro, y que el miedo mata, pero la alegría apoya la vida.
En Buchenwald, Lusseyran conoció a un anciano excepcional llamado Jeremy quien, a pesar de las miserables condiciones del campo, transmitía una presencia alegre y curativa. Jeremy se las arreglaba para no juzgar con dureza ni a la situación ni a sus captores.
Lusseyran se dio cuenta que los prisioneros que morían primero eran los que consideraban que estaban en un infierno. Por el contrario, Jeremy nunca se consideró una víctima, ni uno de los buenos que estaban en contra de los malos. Para Jeremy la vida en Buchenwald se trataba de seres humanos haciendo lo que hacen usualmente.
Jeremy explicó que antes de llegar ahí, había visto gente que vivía con miedo y que se lastimaba. Lo mismo pasaba en el campo de concentración, la única diferencia era el lugar. Lo que Jeremy estaba diciendo es que Buchenwald está adentro de nosotros. Son nuestras mentes las que lo transforman en un infierno y alimentan sus horrores.
Viktor Frankl, prisionero de los nazis en Auschwitz, llegó a la misma conclusión que Jeremy: el cielo o el infierno está dentro de cada uno de nosotros. Y lo más bello de todo, uno u otro es una simple decisión, porque todo lo demás son pretextos.
